# 01. First Steps

The **Scroll Network** is a Layer 2 scaling solution for Ethereum that uses zero-knowledge technology to enable faster and more efficient transactions while maintaining the security of the Ethereum blockchain.

Although the Scroll network has not officially announced it, a Scroll airdrop is likely coming in the near future. To be eligible for the airdrop, you can interact with the recently launched mainnet and available protocols. Most popular Dexe on  Scroll network is [**Zebra**](https://zebra.xyz/#/swap)

### Add Scroll Network to Metamask:

Open [**https://chainlist.org/**](https://chainlist.org/) and search for Scroll network. Click **Add to Metamask** button and confirm message in wallet,
